WP Engine Plans

Plans that are offered by WP Engine are considerably different to rival shared hosting plans in terms of the prices. Its prices are based on a number of factors. They look at the number of WordPress, the amount of disk space you require and the number of website visits you get per month. All hosting plans except or Dedicated and Premium plans are based on a shared hosting plan in a Xen virtualized nature.

The plan that covers one install is “The Personal Plan”, then you move to “The Professional Plan” which allows you to create up to 10 install, “The Business Plan” is the ultimate one and it allows you to have up to 25 install. However, this doesn’t limit or stop you from having more than 25 installs. You can contact WP Engine and they will give you a customized price for its Enterprise or Premium plans. All plans excluding the Personal one come with CDN.

These plans are calculated based on average user. For example, if your site has traffic overload, you will need to pay additional amount because of more monthly traffic. According to WP Engine, one IP address in a day is a unique visit and that is how they calculate your monthly bills. Bandwidth is not calculated on all plans. The downside of this is that you won’t get a cPanel and there is no SSH or root access. However, you will be offered a web dashboard and phpMyAdmin for account controls.

Features of WordPress

Since WP Engine only host WordPress, it also offers customers with other hosting features that are not always offered by competitors. One big competitive advantage is that it offers extra control and automation without changing your visitors’ experience.

In addition, WP Engine also offers a tool to create snapshot backups for all new themes and plugins. There are also daily backups and own menus are added to the WordPress admin section. All WP Engine hosting plans are able to spawn a staging site. This will enable you to work on a cloned website. If you are happy with everything, you can make the cloned site live. This helps you to avoid messing up your site whilst testing some features or making changes to the site.

Transferable installs are managed and supported on the dashboard. This helps you to move a site to someone’s account. This feature is very important for web developers who want to move finished sites to clients’ WP Engine accounts.

Please note that for new signups there are no free migrations in the WP Engine. However, it comes with automated WordPress plugin that import files and databases. Pleas bear in mind that WP Engine forbids certain plugins on its servers. If you are not sure of these plugins, please contact their support for more information.

Uptime and Money-Back Guarantee

You have a 60-day money back guarantee from WP Engine. This promise is only applicable to main services. You can contact support for more clarity before signing up. Please note that some web hosting providers in Canada might want you to stay away from WP Engine. You will have to manually do this if you are not happy with their service anymore. Get your backup file, and make sure that everything is fine before you migrate.

WP Engine promises 99.95% service convenience. 5% credit for downtime more than 0.05% and within 30 days it will provide you with the consumer writes.
